Tracking

WP Tao keeps track of all the users of the site on the basis of popular events. In the basic version of WP Tao, 11 types of events have been implemented. Below are all the default event types with descriptions of their application.

1. A visit to the website (traffic)

WP Tao keeps track of every display of a subpage by the user. The collected information is used in many operations, e.g. in viewing reports on the number of page views, visits and visitors.

2. Search term (traffic)

WP Tao monitors all searches of the webpage users. In the reports and the timeline you can view the global history of searches or a search history of a given user.

3. Logging on (user)

WP Tao monitors every attempt to log on, both successful and unsuccessful.

4. Registration (user)

WP Tao monitors every attempt to register, both successful and unsuccessful. The administrator of the panel will also record a manual user registration.

5. Adding a comment (user)

WP Tao monitors every attempt to add a comment. The content of the comment will be assigned to the identified user and displayed on the timeline.

6. Sending a message from the contact form (user)

WP Tao can track most contact forms. In more complex forms, operations of a developer will be required to integrate a custom form with WP Tao. Refer to registration of custom events.

7. Identification of the visitor to the site (user)

The identification event is triggered within other events, e.g. the identification takes place after placing the order at WooCommerce. For identification an e-mail address is required that is provided when placing the order. The identification takes place after triggering the following events: logging on, registration, adding a comment, sending a message from the contact form, placing the order, and when the payment has been credited to one’s account.

8. Adding an item to a cart (commerce)

WP Tao is by default integrated with the sales platforms, WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads. WP Tao collects information who, what and when added to a cart.

9. Removing an item from the cart (commerce)

This event is also associated with WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads and allows to gather information about the removal of the item from the cart by users.

10. Placing an order (commerce)

An event associated by default with a sales platform, WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads. It allows to record information about a successful order. To WP Tao detailed information on the order is transmitted, which is later used in multiple operations.

11. Recording payments (commerce)

The event is recorded when the payment for the order has been received. This event is by default integrated with a sales platform, WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads.
